Prohibited Items and Listings

Introduction

To keep users safe and to comply with the laws of Saudi Arabia, the listings described on this page may not be published on Haraj Jazan.

The list is a guide, not an exhaustive one: the platform may reject or remove any listing it considers contrary to the law or to public decency, even if it is not mentioned here.

Prohibited goods and services

• Weapons, ammunition and their parts, fireworks and stun devices.
• Unlicensed medicines, medical preparations and dietary supplements; narcotics and psychotropic substances.
• Tobacco and tobacco products, shisha, and e-cigarettes and their liquids.
• Alcoholic drinks.
• Endangered or protected wildlife, and falcons without an official licence.
• Cryptocurrencies, investment and trading services, promises of guaranteed profit, and competitions, betting and gambling.
• Official documents, IDs, passports, certificates and stamps — and forging or renting them.
• Counterfeit goods and unofficial copies of software, games and content.
• Fraud services: selling accounts, followers or reviews, hacking accounts, and doing homework or exams on someone else's behalf.
• Personal data and lists of phone numbers.
• Human organs and blood.
• Loans, financing and debt settlement without a licence from the competent authorities.
• Spying and eavesdropping devices, and signal jammers.
• Pornographic or indecent content, and anything contrary to Islamic Sharia or the applicable laws.
• Stolen goods or goods of unknown origin.

Listings that break the rules in how they are posted

• Posting the same item more than once.
• Posting in the wrong section or governorate.
• A fake or misleading price, or a token price used to attract attention.
• Photos copied from the internet or from other people's listings.
• Impersonating a person, an organisation or a brand.
• Phone numbers, links or social-media handles inside the photos or the title.
• Advertising an item that does not exist or is not available, or posting a listing to collect people's data.

Items that need extra care

• Livestock: the seller must meet the applicable health and veterinary requirements and state the animal's age and health honestly.
• Cars: ownership must be in the seller's name or under a legal power of attorney, and any accident or major defect must be disclosed.
• Real estate: advertisers must meet the Real Estate General Authority's requirements for property advertising, including an advertising licence where one is required.
• Jobs: no fee of any kind may be asked of applicants.

What happens when a listing breaks these rules

• The listing is rejected, suspended or removed, and its owner is told why.
• A violation is recorded on the account. Three violations suspend the account for thirty days, and serious violations may close it permanently.
• No paid promotion is refunded on a listing removed for breaking these rules.
• We may report unlawful listings to the competent authorities.

Reporting a listing

If you come across a listing that breaks these rules, tap "Report" on the listing page, choose the reason and add a note if you can. Reports are confidential: the advertiser is never told who reported them.
